From my first consultation with Tamika I knew this was going to be a wedding like no other!
Firstly there was the impressive line up of 8 Bridesmaids! Then of course we got to the subject of makeup for all of these beauties…
The Brief: The brides maids would all be sporting white dresses, holding the most stunning floral bouquets styled by no other than the bride herself, made up of deep magenta coloured Peonies, berries, Asparagus fern, David Austin Roses and so many other beautiful elements. The bride was dressed in a flowing, gold sequin gown created by her mother and makeup was to match her high luxe, vintage style – no natural looks here! We were all swooning over her stunning headwear custom made by Danica Erard from De Millinery – so different, yet so perfect! With my mind racing on the multitude of options, I was so thrilled to have free leash to create my ultimate bride look – Tamika looked flawless with her Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation base, accentuated with the Beverly Hills Creme Contour pallet, the eyes were styled with a reverse classic eye and winged with a bold gold liner and lashes fluttering with a beautiful set from Model Rock Lashes and of course it would not be complete without a swipe of colour on the lip and with no other than the Yves Saint Laurent, Rouge Pur Couture collection which surely did not disappoint. I chose shade 65, which is a beautiful berry colour!
The Bridemaid’s all sported complimenting looks, in the same gold eye hue over top of some of my favourite chocolate matt eye shadows from the Kat Von D Eye Contour Pallet – *insert preaching hands emoji – If you don’t own this pallet I highly recommend heading to your closest Sephora and adding one to your cart ASAP!
This really was the wedding to end my year on a high. Tamika and her posse were nestled in no other than a private suit at the Intercontinental Hotel, Rialto Melbourne. With people literally everywhere – Tamika was such a relaxed bride – enjoying every moment of the process and fully looked the part in her hand made, Amanda Barden “Mascato Robe”– available from yours truly.
The bridesmaids were treated to thank you gifts from the Samantha Wills collection – #jealous – and were lucky enough to have their tresses styled by no other than Melbourne’s best Tyla Miller. If you haven’t already been to her new salon do your self a favour and head to 203 High Street Peston.
Post wedding day hustle – we caught up with the blushing bride to find out how wedded life was treating her and here is what she had to say.
Growing up in a small rural town, then moving to the wedding capital of Port Douglas – What drew to you host this luxe City Wedding?
“Even though we now live in the beautiful surrounding of tropical North Queensland, Melbourne has a very special place in our hearts. We new we could find a venue that suited our style.”
With all the beautiful answers to choose from, what would you say was your favourite part to your big celebration?
“Seeing jack standing at the end of the aisle made my heart skip a beat! It also helped that my makeup and hair was so on point I couldn’t stop smiling.”
When planning a honey moon in the US of A what would your top destination tip be?
“We loved California – however when choosing to honeymoon on the other side of the world, remember the difference in seasons! haha. Lucky we had a tropical ending in Hawaii is all I will say!..”
The day was perfectly captured by the photographic duo from Sass Studios – based in Port Douglas QLD. Here are just some of my favourite images from their gallery of this perfect wedding!
2016 – the bar has been set high! Looking forward to seeing what all of our beautiful brides have installed for us this season!
