Autumn – A fashionable adventure

Buchan at Sunset

From the pages of Gippslandia to the screens of my lovely readers – the following paragraphs are my thoughts of Autumn trends and a beautiful collection of images from our weekend at the beautiful Buchan Farmhouse Accommodation.

Autumn, the season when we tend to channel the colours of the leaves…

What better place in Gippsland to retreat to when trying to channel your inner Autumn vibes than the breathtaking town of Buchan, nestled in the hills just outside this picturesque township resides the accommodating ‘Buchan Farm House’ – proudly run by the parents of my uber talented and creative bestie – Hannah Gilbert. Mary and Dennis have worked tirelessly over the last 12years to make this beautiful homestead the perfect city escape – a place to put your feet up and take in the endless array of hillside views, watch the goats “Princess and Flicker“ play in the adjoining paddocks, take a stroll through the property or simply relax on the porch with your favourite novel, a cup of tea and maybe one of Mary’s famous scones and homemade jam – with produce picked straight from the garden, you cant get more country than that!!

A country escape really is a must this season – I feel you cant really appreciate the beauty this season has to offer without taking a leisurely drive to the countryside. And this particular ‘Sunday Drive’ surly did not disappoint in the inspiration department! My chameleon muse Giselle displays my effortless love for all things that are natural, soft and dreamy for the season ahead of us. From the relaxed fashion, dewy skin to the pop of colour – Burnt Orange from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance pallet to be specific – to the eyelid! I love it all.

To create Giselle’s soft, blended eye only 2x bushes were used! Yep, you read that correctly – the lady who carries around 100+ brushes to every job only used 2x brushes!! And if I’m honest, these 2x brushes are always my ‘ go too’s ‘ – so I highly suggest you head out and get yourself the famous MAC 217 Blending Brush and the Napoleon Perdis 8B Difusing Brush for the finer detail on the lower lash line! Definite necessities!

Giselle woke pre-sunrise to take in all things beautiful about sunrises, the freshness of a new day is so beautiful – and once the sun starts to creep above the horizon the memory of your 5am alarm bells instantly resolve. The day of our shoot flowed from sunrise sun basking on a rock wall that made us all feel like we had just walked into a scene from a Wales countryside movie, breakfast back at the cottage lounging in the ever trendy little lacy lingerie from Kat The Label (obsessed), picnics in the first of the fallen autumn leaves, then we pumped up the glamour to capture what I believe to be what we can all be excited for this season! I love that we are still seeing denim in our wardrobe – the colour pallet is so beautiful from soft caramels, khaki, hues of pastel blue, white and textures of leather and lace. Giselle effortlessly shows us that soft tousled finger waved hair – created with a flat iron, a spritz or two of Eleven Sea Salt Texture Spray and their Slick Hold Styling Pomade for that wet, effortlessly pieced together look – these products are essential for the season and can be purchased from

Lets talk skin..
Hydration is a must as we move into the new season, not only do the leaves loose moisture and start to shrivel – so does your skin if you don’t take immediate action. Skin care does not need to break the bank either. My go to face saver comes from the cost effective Priceline – at night I smother my face with Egyptian Magic – this cream really is magic!

That sunset glow – brought to you by a combination of pre makeup application exfoliation, moisture, radiant priming and a dab of Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer to the highest points of the face – cheek bone, cupids bow, tip of the nose – and thats it ladies, if you dont need foundation dont use it! Take care of your skin, research and buy the right products for YOU and not just what the vlogger on You Tube is using and create the best version of you! #LoveYourSkin
